About This Spot

Great Taste Dumpling is the kind of neighborhood spot where the familiar hum of conversation meets the steady rhythm of a kitchen at work. Nestled along a quiet stretch of 8th Avenue in Brooklyn, the space feels unpretentious and warmly inviting—a modest haven for those who crave the humble comfort of a well-made dumpling.

From the moment you step inside, the atmosphere is unhurried and casual, a place where locals gather to satisfy a simple, shared pleasure. The clatter of steamers and the savory scents drifting from the kitchen create a sense of warmth that settles easily into your bones. It’s the kind of spot where you can sink into a quick meal or linger a while, drawn by the genuine feeling of something made with care rather than flash.

The heart of the experience here lies in the dumplings themselves—each bite juicy, tender, and surprisingly generous. Whether you choose them fried or steamed, their delicate wrappers hold a flavorful promise that speaks to authenticity and familiar tradition. Alongside these, bowls of noodle dishes or fried rice arrive with a comforting solidity, pairing perfectly with the main act without overwhelming. It’s not about an elaborate feast but rather a quiet celebration of straightforward, satisfying food that fills both hunger and the space for connection.

Great Taste Dumpling doesn’t rely on elaborate decor or a bustling crowd to make its impression; instead, it’s the softness of this spot’s simplicity that leaves its mark. It’s a place where you can feel the humble pulse of a true neighborhood gem—affordable, approachable, and consistently rewarding in its offerings.

Food - The dumplings are good. Very juicy and flavorful, crispy skin. Soup was OK, very weirdly thick (hot and sour soup). The spring rolls were.. not great. Missing something, not super flavorful. The bun was lacking in filling and was also just not great. I'd stick to the things people say are good here and avoid everything else. Dumplings yes, other stuff... pass. The prices are GREAT though! My friend and I couldn't finish our food, we had to take it with us. Service - My friend ordered for me so I'm not sure but everything went smoothly. We did not get a receipt but our order was correct! And everything was included like forks, spoons, napkins and sauces. Atmosphere - Chill. There's not many places to sit but we found space and it wasn't crowded thankfully.

The dumplings have way too much fat. No meat, lol. I stopped eating.

Always come here when I’m craving some dumplings! They’re nice and juicy and always full! I enjoy their egg rolls too.

So delicious and affordable. I parked right across the street. There's plenty of parking (was there on the weekend) I was in the area and wanted to find some authentic, affordable dumplings. Far exceeded my expectations. The restaurant is small but very clean. My order was made fresh and within 10 minutes. I ordered pork steam dumplings, a sesame pancake with pork and had a honey soda asian beverage for $8.00. I love that THIS aspect of New York still lives and thrives. Always returning. This is a gem.

This place makes the best dumplings in all of Brooklyn, possibly the world....You get 8 giant pieces for only $3 dollars!!! And they taste amazing...Definitely worth trying, and if you don't like them, it's just three bucks u wastes, no big deal, lol...

Nice little place for affordable food, I try the fried pork dumplings and wonton, taste wise it was good, if you included the price then it great, very affordable. Definitely recommend for anyone who is eating on a budget.

Food is made while you wait. So good. It is a very small place. Most order take out. Pictured fried chive n pork dumpling, absolutely delicious. Ordered the bok choy dumpling soup, the best. We sat and ate there. Not a fancy place just simple, but good.

guys let me put you on this store. this place is beating every other place because of how good the food is at such a price. me and my friends got 3 noodle soups under $20, and the noodle soups were made with real broth soup not like other places instant soup and real handmade fishballs with veggies, SUPER affordable, i used to go here often as a child to eat because it was so delicious and cheap. stop going to fast food places who sell you expensive slop and go to this local place! one meal at another restaurant would cost twice the amount here, except this restaurant sells real and authentic food. the owner is very hard working
